Cleveland Thomas "Tommy" Smallwood age 72, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2019. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 15, at the Gordon First Baptist Church with Rev. Maxie Threatt and Rev. Paul Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Ramah Cemetery.

Tommy was a life-long resident of Gordon. He was retired from BASF after 47 years of service. He served as a member of the Gordon City Council for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Coleman and Alma Snyder Smallwood. Tommy was a member of the Wilkinson County Health Department Committee. He was a member and served as a Deacon of Gordon First Baptist Church. He loved to run and ride his bicycle. He loved to ride his dirt bikes and four wheelers with his grandchildren. He truly loved his family and his church.

Survivors include his wife Ellen Turner Smallwood of Gordon, two daughters Deena Methe (John) and Tonia Smith (Matt) of Gordon, a brother David Smallwood (Wanda) of Toomsboro, a sister Janice Fightmaster (Chuck) of Spring Hill, FL, grandchildren: Ashleigh Amerson, Kristen Wells (Kyle), Alyssa Amerson, Katie Hampton (Caelin), Cole Methe (Allycia) and Cale Methe, great grandchildren Brielle Wells and Lukas Hampton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Couey Reece Stanley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gordon First Baptist or to the Alzheimer's Association.
