MCINTYRE, GA - Reed Scott Brooks, 75, of McIntyre transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00AM, in the Chapel of Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in Gordon, GA, with the Revs. Sam Loyd and Tom Alexander officiating.

Immediately following the service visitation and a celebration of his Home Going, will be held at the residence, 56 Claymont Rd., McIntyre. Burial will be private later in the afternoon.

Reed was born in Wilkinson County to the late Clarence Eugene and Nola Reed Brooks. He retired from Engelhard Corp. (BASF), and was a member and deacon of White Springs Baptist Church of Gordon. He was a loving husband, a devoted father-grandfather and a trusted friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Reed Scott Brooks, Jr., and a brother, Lamar Eugene Brooks.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Phyllis Brown Brooks. Daughter, Shana B. McAdams (Trent) of Dublin. Grandchildren, Savannah and Brady McAdams of Dublin. Brother, Larry S. Brooks (Judy) of Gordon. Sister in Law, Sandra M Brooks of Austin, TX and several nieces and nephews.
