Ralph Jackson Brooks, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Services will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, January 30th at White Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Alexander and Bobby Doolittle officiating. Burial will be private in Ramah Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks was born in Wilkinson County, Georgia on November 13, 1934, to the late Joe Daniel Brooks and Minnie Jewell Fountain Brooks. He worked in the kaolin industry retiring from Engelhard Kaolin as Plant Superintendent. He was asked to troubleshoot for many companies over the years, including one in China.  He and his wife were involved in many charitable works in the community, although they remained humble and never sought recognition. He was instrumental in having Freeport Kaolin to donate property for the local ball fields, as well as building the fields and playing/coaching several teams.

He was a veteran and an avid golfer until recently, and was a member of Dixie Senior Golf Association.  He was a devoted husband and father and truly adored his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Comer Brooks, his son Dwaine Jay Brooks, two brothers, his twin Joe Ray Brooks and Darrell Brooks. He was a faithful member of White Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters Karla Brown (Ronald) of Gordon and Kema Brewer (Gary) of Hazelhurst, a sister Deborah Molton of Ivey, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to White Springs Baptist Church or to the Shepherd Center.
