Melody Gaye Sims, 62, of Madison St. passed away Tuesday in Macon. Services will be held Saturday September 30, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Morris and Elder Dan Bryant will officiate.

Gaye was born in Macon, GA and was the daughter of Reid and Margaret Hawthorne Sims.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Reida Jill Sims Mitchell, and by her Grandparents, Howard Leon "Bud" Hawthorne, Evelyn Lee Hawthorne, Bill Sims, Sr. and Leona Bennett Sims, and her Grandchild Cali-Ann Knight.  Gaye was a 1979 graduate of Wilkinson County High School and was retired from Brown & Williamson/R.J. Reynolds Tobacco.

Survivors include her father, William Reid Sims, Jr. Sisters, Gina Sims (Richie) Green, and Joye Sims Binion.  Nieces and Nephews, Mitch Fountain, Skylar Fountain, Danielle Vinson, Davey Vinson, Zack Binion, Erica Gaye Binion, Jeb Binion, and Will Binion. Her bonus child, Brandon Knight. Numerous Great Nieces and Nephews.  Her furbaby "Petey"

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Saturday before the service in the funeral home.
