Mary E. Etheredge

GORDON - Mary Eleanor Durshimer Etheredge, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Curry, Jr. and Rev. Johnny Jackson will officiate. Committal service will be in Ramah Cemetery.

Mrs. Etheredge was born in Albany, GA the daughter of the late Elmore John and Vesta Lynn Durshimer. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Margaret Hollinshead and her Brother John Durshimer. Mary was cofounder of Maebob's Restaurant in Irwinton, a former 4H Coordinator with the University System of Georgia Extension Service and the first female mayor of Irwinton. She was a member of the Gordon Woman's Club and the Gordon First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Konreid Etheredge, daughter, Debbie Chambers Dell, sons, Scott (Emma) Chambers, and Ron (Tammy) Chambers. Brother, Wayne (Betty) Durshimer and sister, Anita (Bobby) Thomas.

Step-Daughter, Julie Bunker, Step-Sons, Jimmy (Michele) Etheredge, and Mark Etheredge.

Grandchildren, Trey (Lauren), Matt, Catherine and Caroline Chambers, Dawson and Karlie Dell.

Great Grandchildren, Mya Jewel and Eva Grace Chambers.

Step-Grandchildren, Austin, Jack and Will Bunker. Jake, Rachel and Sam Etheredge.

There are also many nieces and nephews as well.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, August 29 in the Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in Gordon.
