The death of Mrs. Joyce W. Massengale, age 87 occurred Monday November 12, 2018, in Macon. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 15, at 11:00 A.M. at the Gordon First Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Thomaston and Rev. Maxie Threatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Ivey Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Massengale was a life-long resident of Wilkinson County. She was member of Gordon Baptist Church active in the Choir, and Sunday School Teacher. She taught in the Twiggs County School System, she then worked for the United States Postal Service in the Gordon Post Office for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Massengale, two sons Tony and Michael Massengale, and great grandson Nicholas Massengale.

Survivors include her son Tim Massengale (Stella) of Ivey, two grandchildren Jason Massengale (Tara) and Josh Massengale (Ashley), and six great grandchildren also survive.

The family will be at Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in Gordon Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 for friends to call.
