John Riley McNeal Jr "Big John", 73, died peacefully on March 13, 2024 in Macon, GA.

John is survived by his father, JR McNeal Sr (wife Helen McNeal) of Gordon, GA; wife, Priscilla Patterson McNeal of Gordon, GA; son, John Riley McNeal III (wife Lane McNeal, daughter Lexie McNeal) of Dry Branch; son, Hunter Branan McNeal (Angel Stegall) of Jackson, GA, son Wayne Lee McNeal of Gray, GA; brother Tim McNeal (wife Karen McNeal) of Gordon, GA, brother Troy McNeal (wife Becky McNeal) of Gordon, GA, and brother Kent McNeal (wife Chris McNeal) of Perry, GA as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy "Dot" McNeal of Gordon, GA.

John was born on August 9, 1950, in Macon, GA to JR and Dot McNeal. He married Priscilla on April 9, 1982. He spent time as a deputy sheriff for Wilkinson County serving his community. He loved working for the Georgia Forestry Commission up until retirement. He would often tell stories of his time at the forestry fighting fires while operating a bulldozer. He also spent years as a pilot for the forestry.
