The death of John McMurray "Murray" Brooks, age 55 occurred, Wednesday morning December 21, 2016 in Macon.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Gordon First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Ramah Cemetery in Gordon.

Mr. Brooks was a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County a 1979 graduate of Wilkinson County High School and worked for Engelhard for over 25 years and at Diamond Plastics for the past 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Freeman and Sara Nell Way Brooks and a sister Carolyn Brooks Carroll and was a member of the Gordon First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Lisa McBride Brooks of Gordon, daughter Kristina Brooks Fordham (Corey) of Ivey, sons, John McMurray "Mack" Brooks II (Jaymi) of Milledgeville, Matthew Way Brooks (DeAnna) of Eatonton, and Michael Alan Brooks (Ashley) of Gordon.

His sister Charlene Brooks Holder (Dennis) of McIntyre, two brothers, Charles Brooks (Susan) and Billy Brooks (Cathy) both of Macon. 13 grandchildren also survive.
