Elizabeth Jean Jernigan Weaver, 82, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and devoted husband of 62 years, Donnie. Jean was a homemaker and lifelong native of Gordon, Georgia, where she and Donnie raised their children and many of their grandchildren. She was a member of Gordon Methodist Church and was perhaps most well known for her unending love and dedication to all members of her family. Before becoming ill, Jean was very active in her church and community: She enjoyed taking meals to shut-ins in the community, mailing church bulletins to those not able to attend Sunday Service, attending choir and handbell programs, and even helping in the Children's Nursery many years ago. She was also an incredibly beautiful piano player, all of which was by ear.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother Mable Rawls, brother Everett Jernigan, and daughters Donna Jean and Laurie Weaver. She is survived by her husband, Donnie Weaver, daughter Gail Brown and daughter and son-in-law Frances and Scotty Harrison, grandchildren Jennifer, Josh, Jamey, Bethany, Kayleigh, Alex, Brandon, Anthony, Abby, her 15 great grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law Homer and Rita Rawls, and her sister-in-law Faye Jernigan.

Jean's family celebrates her immeasurable impact and although we grieve her loss, we rejoice at her homecoming with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9th at Gordon Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Gordon Methodist Church.
