The death of Mr. Claudia Franklin "Papa" Phillips, age 82, occurred Monday, December 6, 2021 in Macon.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9 ^th at the chapel of Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in McIntyre.

Claudia "Papa" was born on February 6, 1939, in Wilkinson County to the late Joseph Weldon Phillips and Nina Mae Underwood Phillips. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jr. Phillips, Larry Phillips, and James Phillips, two sisters, Hilda Loyd, and Bobbie Daniels. He was retired from Engelhard and a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Myrtee F. Phillips of McIntyre, daughters Millie Thomas (Randy) of Knoxville TN, Terry Alday, Jeanne Sullivan, and Connie Glover (Dennis) all of Macon. two brothers, Donald Phillips of Seattle WA, and Ray Phillips of Gray, two sisters Billie McDaniel and Joyce Vinson both of McIntyre, nine grandchildren: Matt, Meredith, Philip, Brandon, Megan, Emily, Mitchell, Melissa, and Brigg, four great grandchildren: Khloe, Mary Dixon, Garren, and Colton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home.
